Clearing the air of despondency

I wonder why are we so overwhelmed with being happy throughout.

It is our expectation to be in that perfect state of happiness all the time, which makes us sad further!

It’s alright to be sad for a little bit;

That’s the bit that makes the happiness we feel vibrant

Teaches us to appreciate the good times, things and people

It’s okay to be sad, dissatisfied and disappointed

Even Mother Nature and the Gods are not spared from this feeling!

As, correctly quoted by the poet,William Blake

“A skylark wounded in the wing,

A Cherubim does cease to sing.”

But what’s wrong is to obsess about it

Let it do more damage that it actually is doing

Letting it affect all the spheres of our life which we otherwise,

are capable of shielding

Being oneself’s own aggravation

So it’s better if

we hang on

Hold on

And heal on!

And accept healing too isn’t Fairy Godmother’s magic potion

Which will work at a wand’s wave

It is a process

And the amount of time it takes is variable.

Fuelled by our will and acceptance

So it’s okay not to be okay.

I wonder at times

Is it really sane to even be in that state of absolute happiness all the time

It’s maddening

It’s that feeling of having too much sweet

So that all the other sensations are numb

Your eyes water

It nauseating and sickening!

It feels like being Arthur Fleck

Who just puts on a happy face all the time, every time.

Taught to put it on since childhood, regardless.

It drives him crazy.

It feels like being Dolores Umbridge

Who has a smile pasted on her pursed lips constantly

A smile you loathe!

So I feel rather than focusing on the myth of being happy always

We should focus on acceptance

Being real,rather mythical

Preach patience!

Wait for the

Wing healing,

Cherubim singing!

And believe what Mr. Roy T Bennett said

“It takes sunshine and rain to make a rainbow.”

So let’s not be afraid but accommodating

And let’s cope

A lesson I learnt from my mother

And it hit me subconsciously

I could have a favourite vegetable or fruit

And I could experience the joy of having it

Because it was occasionally made.

And on the days I dint get my favourites

My mother said if the broccoli is tormenting you

Finish it!

So I had to eat all that I did not like

To enjoy what I liked thoroughly

Like a process

Going through the upheavals to reach and experience

the feeling of being entire and multifaceted!

Clearing the air of despondency to see the technicolour rainbow with gold at both ends

ending on the horizon

and also in our souls.
