Mom, why did you send me to the tomb?
Even when I had not come out of your womb
I was punished for such a mistake
Which I did not even make
I was a girl not a boy
But qualities in me were also alloyed
I could do anything a boy could
I could easily prove myself to be good
I too wanted to come out and jingle my bangles
Wanted to see the world from different angles
I too wanted to learn and study
Wanted to make sand castles becoming muddy
I too wanted to experience the feeling
Of the raindrops on me falling
I too wanted to feel sun’s first rays
Kicking the night and bringing a day
Before you went for amniocentesis
You said you’d keep me whatever the result is
But now I see you were a liar
You killed each one of my desire
People say girls will never progress
How will they, if they are so less
Despite of being in chains curled
The one excelling today is a girl!

Excellent
Oh such a lovely and touchy composition. Amazing
