Long time ago in a kingdom
Where everyone enjoyed freedom
Lived a ruler who was just
So justice in this kingdom was a must
But,there was a problem he had
Which made him time and again sad
He dint have a child of his own
Due to this he & the queen used to moan
After almost 20 years of their tying, the knot
They got the happiness which made them wait a lot
The queen delivered a pretty baby
With rose red lips and hair wavy
On the day of her christening
The palace with lights was glistening
Many fairies were called to the ceremony
And each one had brought in, gifts many
When it was time for fairies to give their magical kiss
Each fairy came forward & blessed the baby with bliss
Then suddenly there was thunder and lightening
And appeared Maleficent with a face frightening
Of not being invited she complained
The king realised the mistake he had made
The king to her said a, sorry
And now about the baby he started to worry
But Maleficent came with a gift not bad, but worse
She for the baptism came with a gift of a curse
She cursed that at the age of 16, when reached the lady
She’d lose her life and merely be a lifeless body
Everyone in the kingdom pleaded to the fairy
To take back her wish which was so so scary
But the fairy was not at all moved
And the curse therefore wasn’t removed
To compensate for the evil done
All the good fairies united their magic in one
They said the princess would only sleep for a years hundred
And would wake to the kiss of a prince, who she will wed
The princess was brought up with utmost protection
Spinning wheels would put her to sleep, so met rejection
On her 16th birthday when she was loitering around
She came to a halt after hearing a weaving sound
She quickly commenced towards the sound
A lady really old, spinning there, she found
She wanted to help the lady
So for spinning the princess was ready
But the moment she touched the wheel
Something absurd in her head, she could feel
Within a moment or two
She fell in deep slumber for many years not few
The good fairies put the whole kingdom to slumber
So when the princess would wake, she’d find things, as remembered
Time from then came to a standstill
With soft music now the kingdom was filled
Then one day from the faraway land
Came a prince with a sword in his hand
He entered the kingdom at a time
when the slumber would end, and life would chime
He stepped in a castle with drowsiness galore
Not really knowing what was in store
When he entered the highest tower
He saw a sleeping beauty prettier than a flower
He leaned in and planted a kiss
And unknowingly to the kingdom returned its bliss
The princess started to stir in bed
When she saw the prince, she blushed red
Everything in the kingdom came to life
As the prince decided to make her his wife.
