Not That Girl

When you fall down, I won’t be there to pick you up.

When you feel you can’t go on any longer, I won’t tell you it’s okay to let go.

When you’re broken, won’t really fix you.

When pessimism hovers,won’t drain my entire optimism for you.

Not that girl.Not at all.Never have been.Never will be!

But, I’ll be the girl who will remind you of your strengths,

Will tell you,your tales of bravery

Will stick around till all the broken parts of you heal

And if at all they leave scars,will tell you

You are as beautiful as the Japanese art of Kintsugi.

So that when you get up and shine

The victory is only yours!

You cried on your own shoulder

Nursed your own bruised knee

Wiped your own tears

Deserved the wings you grew!

And now you get to fly

And the flight is YOURS.

And all this while

I’ll probably stand at a distance with a teary-eyed smile

(Not really proud of what I did

Because technically I didn’t do anything

You did!)

Because someday if I will be you!

You will be me.

Reminding me, to look within!

Not crossing my hurdles,

Not walking my walk.

But, standing at a distance,

seeing me do it all,

All by myself.
